Very Merry Midland FAQs

What can we experience at Very Merry Midland: Reindeer Games?

Experience Downtown Midland like never before this holiday season!

Ice skate on the Concho Resources Ice Rink in the Bank of America Plaza and take some family photos in a giant inflatable snow globe, then grab some hot chocolate from the Betenbough Gingerbread House and take a walking tour down Wall Street to peek into holiday window displays featuring Live performances located in select buildings between Big Spring and Colorado Streets.  Window sponsors include: DO432, ERP, Douglas Scharbauer, and the Downtown Midland Management District.

Is there a fee to come to Very Merry Midland?

There is no fee to enter Very Merry Midland or take in the Live Performance Holiday Window Display Tour.   But if you’d like take test your skills on our Ice Rink built just for West Texas or some of our other activities, those fees are listed below:

30 minutes of ice skating (skates included)                     $6 a person

Giant Inflatable Snow Globe Photo Opportunity            $6 for up to 5 people

Take a photo with Santa’s Live Reindeer (Santa comes with it)

Additional fees for food, beverages, merchandise and etc. may apply.

How are you putting an ice skating rink in Downtown Midland? Won’t it melt in West Texas?

We are! And, no it won’t! We’re installing a synthetic ice skating rink that skates like real ice and that’s used by hockey players and figure skaters for practice. Read all about this really cool portable, synthetic ice skating rink that we’re installing here!

Is the Concho ice rink just for kids?

Very Merry Midland is an all-ages, family-friendly event. We do have ice skates in both kid and adult sizes, the giant inflatable snow globe can fit someone that exceeds 6’5” tall and we’ll be serving hot coffee as well as hot chocolate. Santa’s workshop is child-focused, but we do recommend kids not take the walking tour of the Live Mannequin Window Displays without an adult chaperone.

Tell me about the “giant inflatable snow globe”.

We have a giant inflatable snow globe, sponsored by do432 where guests can get inside to take fun holiday photos with your family or friends! Up to five people can step inside for just $6. We’ll take your photo and then email it to you right then!

Can we bring in a cooler or some snacks?

We do not allow any outside food or drinks to be brought into Winter Wonderland, but we offer hot chocolate, hot coffee and a variety of sweet treats at the Betenbough Homes Gingerbread House! (Please do not try to eat the Gingerbread house even though it looks so tasty!)

Will Santa visit Very Merry Midland? What about other entertainment?

Very Merry Midland’s Winter Wonderland is Santa’s “home away from home”! He will stop by on Saturday afternoons, 1-3 pm and join his Live reindeer on Tuesday, December 5 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Do you take group reservations?

Yes, we do! Reserve a group at Very Merry Midland by calling (432) 360-3337 or emailing us at curator@doyourcity.us.

Is this a pet friendly event?

Other than our fuzzy, friendly mascots, unfortunately, it is not pet friendly. With the hustle and bustle of the crowd and the activities, your dog will not enjoy this incredible event as much as they will enjoy surfing the channels on your TV and having the couch all to themselves!

I’d love to volunteer to help make Very Merry Midland a success, where do I sign up?

We love volunteers! Call (432) 360-3337 to ask about our volunteer needs.
